Simply Music is a revolutionary, Australian-based piano learning method that offers a breakthrough in music education. It is a remarkable approach in that students of all ages can play great sounding contemporary, classical, gospel, blues and accompaniment pieces, immediately from their very first lesson! Simply Music takes a 'playing based' approach to piano lessons, guiding and supporting students' natural musical self expression.

Neil Moore created this amazing program in the late 20th century to help a young blind child learn how to play piano. Inspired by the desire to create a world where everyone plays, and the belief that everyone is inherently musical, Neil developed tools and strategies that made piano accessible to all. At Simply Music, we distill down musical ideas into simple patterns, to support everyone in manifesting the magic of musical expression and communication.

Goals

To create an environment where students routinely acquire and retain music as a lifelong companion, which includes:

    To experience playing as a natural self expression

    To have the ability to play a huge repertoire covering a vast array of musical styles

    To have the ability to self-generate, i.e. progress independently with a strong foundation in reading and theory

    To have a highly positive, self-affirming experience throughout the music learning process
